  JAMES HAMILTON
Director - theChipfactory Ltd

theChipfactory is the result of my efforts in bringing people together based on their appreciation of design.

The following image is part of the 2000AD "Zarjaz!" exhibition put on by Playlounge. Held at 11 Short Gardens, Seven Dials, Covent Garden, London, the exhibition is running from 10th December 2005 to early January 2006, entry is free.

We have just had our first propper group showing in Soho, London. The opening night was a success and the show in general has been very well received. This was also the first show that I have organised and it will likely not be the last.

Aside from the organization, my work for the show was a conceptual installation. The problems that I faced for a show such as this is that my work is not generally translated into large spaces. The installation consists of a hand-printed flypostered wall and 3 'canvases' of fine tailoring fabrics. The most expensive of the three fabrics retails at around £240 + VAT per metre, (Super 180's wool).

Different people find different items Precious items are different to different people, personally, the creation of the prints (in collaboration with screen printer Suzy Koo) was a task done with much care, with the purpose of destruction. The canvases have 'throw away' careless illustrations of objects that I am attatched to. The series includes my glasses, my Aeron and my hat which has been with me for some time. Items which in a way define me as a person. I am a materialist, and such collections are valuable to me.

The site is coded by hand, using a text editor and Photoshop etc.

Projection for photographers Tim&Barry an exhibition organised by Hardcore Is More Than Music, also showing work from Turner Prize Winner Jeremy Dellar. The exhibition was held at 20 Fordham St, Whitechapel, London until the end of February 2005.
